Friday, December 31, 2010 at 11:30PM If Robert Crumb ate an all red meat diet for 6 months, followed by a large dose of steroids, all while learning the art of being a B-Boy, you would have Nick Pavlak. His art combines the classic artistic style of underground comix with new school graffiti. Mr. Pavlak has the talent to create art by traditional methods like pen to paper or by means of graphic design. His pieces are intricately detailed on canvases that sometimes exceed 32 square feet. Every time I look at them, I notice something new.
Who’s up for a game? Can you find the canned product that says “Soup” in one of these paintings? If you find it, send an email to thetravelingyeti@gmail.com with the title “The Yeti ripped off Waldo.” I encourage the use of a hand lens in your search. Those who respond with an accurate description on where to find the object in question will receive a special New Years greeting from yours truly.
